To arrive to Caño Negro you have two options:
1) If you are comming from La Fortuna, Sarapiqui or San Carlos, take the 35 and then 138 route.
2) If you are comming from Guanacaste, Monteverde or Tenorio, take 4 and then 138 route.

In Caño Negro the climate is hot and humid.
We recommend to bring light clothes, sun protection and bugs repellent.
If you will visit us between May and December, be ready for rain and mud.
We have two seasons:
Dry season, January to April, Migratory birds are here, we can walk around the wetland
Rainy season, from May to December, breeding season, the wetland are full of water.
Both season are able to travel by boat and always it is an amazing experience.
There is no bank or ATM in Caño Negro.
But do not worry we accept credit card.
If you are planning arrive by bus. There is service three times per day from Los Chiles and from Upala
(except Sunday)
